Salted Lassi
A cooling, savory yogurt drink from the Punjab region of India blended with cumin, mint, and a pinch of salt. It pairs perfectly with spicy meals and is a refreshing alternative to the sweet mango version.
Ingredients
- 2 cups plain whole-milk yogurt
- 1 cup cold water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 8 leaves fresh mint leaves
- 8 cubes ice cubes
- 1/4 tsp black salt (kala namak) or extra table salt

Add 2 cups plain whole-milk yogurt, 1 cup cold water, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black salt (kala namak) or extra table salt, 1/2 tsp ground cumin, 8 leaves fresh mint leaves, and 8 cubes ice cubes to a blender.

Blend on high speed for 45 seconds until smooth, frothy, and the mint is fully incorporated.

Taste and adjust salt as needed. Pour into tall glasses and garnish with a pinch of ground cumin and a fresh mint leaves sprig. Serve immediately.
