Taho
Silken tofu served warm in a brown sugar syrup with sago pearls, a traditional Filipino breakfast dessert that's trending on social media.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs silken tofu
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup cooked small sago pearls, cooked
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch salt

In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 cups water, and pinch salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring until brown sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 1/4 tsp vanilla extract. Let cool slightly.

Gently heat 2 lbs silken tofu by placing it in a bowl and pouring hot water over it. Let it warm for 2-3 minutes, then carefully drain the water.

Divide warm tofu among serving bowls.

Spoon 1/2 cup cooked cooked small sago pearls on top of the tofu.

Pour the warm brown sugar syrup over each bowl.

Serve immediately while still warm.
