Creamed Savoy Cabbage
Tender ribbons of savoy cabbage braised in a rich nutmeg-infused cream sauce. A classic comforting side dish that pairs perfectly with roasted meats.
Ingredients
- 1 head savoy cabbage, sliced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 2 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 cup vegetable broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp fine sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper

Melt 2 tbsp unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add 1 diced yellow onion and 2 minced garlic clove, sautéing for 3 minutes until softened.

Stir in 1 head sliced savoy cabbage and cook for 5 minutes until slightly wilted.

Pour in 1/2 cup vegetable broth, cover with a lid, and simmer for 10 minutes until cabbage is tender.

Stir in 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg, 1/2 tsp fine sea salt, and 1/4 tsp black pepper.
