Grilled Halloumi
Charred halloumi cheese with a melty center and crispy exterior. A Mediterranean appetizer that's quick to make and packed with smoky, salty flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 lb halloumi cheese, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- to taste sea salt
- to taste black pepper
- 1 fresh lemon wedges
- 2 tsp fresh mint leaves

Slice 1 lb sliced halloumi cheese into 1/2-inch thick slabs.

In a small bowl, combine 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 1 tsp dried oregano, 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, to taste sea salt, and to taste black pepper.

Brush both sides of 1 lb sliced halloumi cheese slices with the oil mixture.

Preheat a grill or grill pan to high heat (450°F).

Grill 1 lb sliced halloumi cheese for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown with charred marks. The cheese should soften but hold its shape.

Transfer to a serving platter and drizzle with any remaining marinade.

Garnish with 2 tsp fresh mint leaves and serve immediately with 1 fresh lemon wedges.
