Tiny homemade pasta dumplings stuffed with spiced beef, served in garlic yogurt sauce and drizzled with warm mint butter.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 lb lean ground beef
- 1/2 yellow onion, finely grated
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp sweet paprika
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp dried mint

Mix 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 beaten egg, 1/2 cup water, and half of the 1 tsp salt in a bowl to form a stiff dough; knead for 10 minutes, cover, and rest for 30 minutes.

Combine 1/2 lb lean ground beef, 1/2 finely grated yellow onion, remaining 1 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp black pepper in a medium bowl until thoroughly blended.

Roll dough out thinly on a floured surface and cut into small 1-inch squares.

Place a small pinch of filling onto each square, pinch the four corners together at the top to seal completely.

Whisk 1 cup plain Greek yogurt and 2 minced garlic cloves together in a small serving bowl until smooth.

Melt 2 tbsp melted unsalted butter in a small skillet over medium-low heat, then stir in 1 tsp sweet paprika, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, and 1 tsp dried mint for 1 minute.

Boil dumplings in salted water for 8 to 10 minutes until cooked through and the beef filling reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.

Drain cooked dumplings, transfer to plates, and top with garlic plain Greek yogurt and spiced warm unsalted butter sauce.
