Cassava Bread
Crispy, golden cassava cake made from cassava flour with a light, airy texture. A traditional Haitian side dish trending in modern cuisine.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cassava flour (yuca flour)
- 4 tbsp butter, melted, melted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup water (warm)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup coconut milk

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan.

In a large bowl, combine 2 cups cassava flour (yuca flour), 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/2 tsp salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together 4 tbsp melted butter, melted, 1 egg, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1/2 cup water (warm), and 1/4 cup coconut milk.

Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until a thick batter forms.

Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
